Mars is the planet of action, and in the sign of Capricorn, Mars takes action to get things done. Patience is not a word Mars in Capricorn is fond of, and its sense of urgency and tendency to authoritatively assert itself often overrides any patience that may be present.
Pluto in Capricorn has been doing its “reaping havoc” thing since 2010, collapsing and clearing out outdated and outworn institutions, establishments, and societal standards in its wake. Anything that no longer serves the Highest and greatest good of humanity is being eliminated by Pluto with the intention of replacing it with something that does or will eventually serve us better.
This transition from old to new isn’t easy, and this 2014 conjunction of Mars and Pluto in Capricorn that was exact (11°)on Monday, 10th November 2014 at 3:06p PST is a testament to how challenging this transformation can be. The actions taken under this influence may be rather intense and may seem excessively deliberate…and they are. The actions that occur on and around this day are meant to bring destruction and decision so that past matters can finally be brought to conclusion, yet they also serve to bring forth new beginnings in conclusion’s wake.
This 2014 Mars-Pluto conjunction in Capricorn appears to be a tipping point – the first active consciousness of the power and authority void that is being left due to Pluto’s clearing-out process. Now that the old and outdated institutions, establishments, powers-that-be, and such are being phased out or cleared out, there is an opportunity for new entities to come in to fill the cleared space. The interesting thing is that in alignment with Mars’ warrior nature and Pluto’s desire to be transformative, there are many unusually aggressive efforts to take over the space that has been cleared.
For example, within the last few days:
- Boko Haram has been associated with a suicide bombing in a school in Nigeria, and its leader has made it known that he has sold the girls they had kidnapped earlier this year, making the girls’ collective safe return & recovery unlikely.
- China is hosting the APEC Summit, making itself and its influence known to the rest of the world, and doing its best to establish itself as an authority and power player on the world’s political and economic stages.
- Pro-Russia separatists have begun shelling again in eastern Ukraine, straining the already-tense cease fire in that region.
- Palestine-Israel tensions are running high after some stabbing incidents and violent acts resulting in a straining of their dependably-tense cease fire agreement.
The aggressive steps now being taken by these groups and nations reflect their heightened awareness of their regional and world climates and roles. They are eager to take actions to assert themselves to place themselves at the front of the line to fill the void(s) left after Pluto has done and continues to do its work. It will be interesting to see how much ground these groups can gain before other parties start to challenge their advances, or to see who and/or what pushes back against their aggressive Mars-based tactics. It will also be curious to see which parties challenge these aggressors for position, power, and dominance.
Uranus Retrograde in Aries (13.25°) and Chiron Retrograde in Pisces (13.15°)are both within transit orb of this 2014 Capricorn Mars-Pluto conjunction. Uranus Retrograde is square and Chiron Retrograde is sextile. This is interesting on two counts.
The Uranus square is an indicator that groups are more likely to be emboldened to take collective action or have a collective reaction to the acts of individuals. Many of the afore-mentioned incidents are “the few” taking actions to aggravate or challenge “the many” – a David vs. Goliath sort of challenge.
The Chiron sextile is an indicator that these incidents will bring attention to the deep wounds that have been opened in the removal of old institutions and standards and how those wounds have gone unattended. These aggressive groups are taking actions to heal it in ways that clearly serve them best, but it is important to note that these groups genuinely do believe that their actions are in the best interests of All-That-Is. They are taking actions to place themselves in positions of power to do make the changes to and heal the world in their own ideal.
You may also notice that there are interesting events occurring in your own life. There may be more assertive or aggressive actions being taken toward you or around you. You may be challenged to assert your personal power or influence over others, especially in the face institutions or establishments that hold authority and power over you. This is call for you to notice where you give up your own power, and an opportunity for you to act powerfully in the face of challenges to your identity and personal Truth.
This is not a lighthearted transit, and the events that happen from 07-13 November 2014 should be taken seriously. Pay attention to what is happening in the world right now and pay attention to what is happening in your own life right now. Notice the valiant attempts of groups and individuals to fill the voids that now exist in localities, regions, and the world as a whole. This 2014 Capricorn Mars-Pluto conjunction is a time for you to recognize the void that has been created and to honor the call upon you to take your place in the fold.
