Mars entered the sign of Sagittarius on Saturday, 5th March 2016 at 6:29a PST, encouraging big, expansive actions – actions with the intention of exploring and experiencing life and Truth.
This 2016 version of Mars in Sagittarius also encourages acting on and in alignment with Truth. This includes acting upon one’s inner Truth, or rather, what you know to be true within your heart and soul, beyond your first-hand experience.
Of course, there’s no better way for you to know (or learn) the truth of a matter than to find out for yourself. Theory is a weak substitute for the real experience, and having the wisdom of experience to draw from in a particular matter gives you credibility like no other. When it comes to sharing your knowledge with others, having been there and done that for yourself first gives you the ability to teach others in ways others who haven’t been there cannot.
Mars in Sagittarius also lends itself to impulsive adventures. These adventures give you opportunities to go into uncharted territories of life experience, growing and expanding your understanding of the human experience of life in this world. Having the freedom to be spontaneously self-expressed in exploration is valuable beyond measure.
Yet there are times you may find that impulsiveness provides you with more of an education than you might have been ready for.Sometimes, taking the leap into the unknown before you’re really prepared helps you learn that you’re not as ready as you think you are to be a player in the great big world…or maybe not in the way you hoped. These cases would fall in the category of overconfident activities/actions – taking on more than you may actually be capable of in the moment. Some people actually learn their life lessons best this way! Others may find this to be a setback on their life journeys…but there are valuable lessons in the setbacks. In fact, setbacks can be just as if not more valuable to you (in the long run) as forward progress.
For the record, opportunities to expand your life are found in both your success and your failures. You get to learn, grow, and develop your presence in the world through both…if you take time to understand how to find the benefits in both. Through a conscious and willing choice to seek and find the positives in all of your life experiences, there is growth available to each and every one of us. Through that growth, you expand our ability to connect with and contribute to the rest of the world in positive and promising ways.
One other potential effect of Mars in Sagittarius could be an increased number of expressions of anger and rage. Mars is, after all, the ruler of the sign of Aries and is (mythologically) known as the god of war. Competitive and/or combative situations can arise quickly and fiercely, and under the influence of Sagittarius, would likely spread quickly. Though Sagittarius generally brings an upbeat, optimistic energy to matters, be on the lookout for anything which doesn’t promote or encourage the expression and expansion of positive energy for the Highest good of all.
2016 Mars in Sagittarius will be in the sign on and off for the next 8.5 months! That’s because Mars goes into retrograde motion at 5:14a PST on 17th April 2016, moving back into Scorpio on 27th May. About a month later (on 29th June), Mars turns direct again, then re-enters Sagittarius for a full run-through on 2nd August 2016 – a run which finally ends on 27th September 2016.
In the meantime, during the remainder of the 2016 Pisces Sun period, Mars in Sagittarius makes one major transit:
- Sagittarius Mars square Pisces Venus, most exact on 14th March – Your inclination to impulsively choose your own adventure may make it difficult for you to connect with people who may be able to help you release any emotional-spiritual baggage you might be carrying unnecessarily. Don’t let your determination to exercise your freedom keep you from being emotionally vulnerable enough to accept or receive the help you need and/or may have asked for. Your load could become a lot lighter if you allow people to love and assist you around this time.
Allowing yourself to be emotionally and spiritually open along the way may be challenging, but could prove to be well worth the effort. Your openness and honesty could enable your adventures to make significant contributions not only to your own personal expansion but to the expansion of others and quite possibly, to the expansion of good throughout the world.
So, during this 2016 Mars in Sagittarius, take action in the name of experiential Truth! Go big…and go world!
