Venus entered the sign of Taurus earlier today, 17th March 2015 at 3:14a PDT. Under its influence, you get to recognize which partnerships make your life easy, comfortable, safe, and secure. That means that for the next 3.5 weeks, you get to assess which of the one-on-one relationships in your life prove most valuable to you.

Taurus is earth fixed energy, and represents what makes you feel solid, safe, secure, and stable in your lifestyle. It’s what is easy for you, what you are comfortable with, and often indicates your “default” lifestyle standards and values.  Even if you don’t really like your lifestyle and/or what composes it, if it’s easy for you to stick with and you’re used to it, you’ll more than likely choose it over any other options presented to you.

That said, it’s usually difficult for you to make changes in the areas of your life that are influenced by Taurus. Taurus, Ceres, and the 2nd house of your personal chart as they reveal how you’re hardwired for comfort and ease regarding your physical-material-financial resource needs. However, though you may not be able to change what’s truly important to you in these matters, under Venus in Taurus you may be able to alter your perception of what is important to you.

Venus is the ruler of Libra, which is air cardinal energy. Contrary to what most people may believe about Venus, it brings objectivity to matters of fairness, justice, and equality.  Yes, it also attends to the peace, ease, diplomacy, and aesthetic beauty of one-on-one relationships, but don’t mistake its affinity for pretty people and things for softness or emotion.  Venus can be extremely logical when it comes to relating with and to others,  and though it may not want to pick sides as to not offend either party, it won’t hesitate to make a stand and/or take action in the face of injustice or inequality or unfairness.

Under the influence of Venus in Taurus, you may become aware of how your one-on-one partnerships play a role in your lifestyle choices.  You may become more aware of what is truly equal, fair, and just in your relationships of all kinds and the dynamics you value in those relationships, especially when it comes to your lifestyle resources needs and desires.

Some questions to ask yourself to help you clarify where you stand with the people in your life:

  • Do your one-on-one relationships encourage you to try new things or experience different options?
  • Do you partnerships seem to stabilize you and your life, or do they disrupt you and your chosen lifestyle?
  • Do your partners and companions define your lifestyle for you, do you define their lifestyle for them, or is the lifestyle you live together truly a 50-50 deal?
  • Do you and your partner(s) share similar values and/or want to live similar lifestyles?
  • Are you comfortable in your one-on-one partnership(s)?
  • Is the relationship an easy one for you to be in and maintain?

If the answer to any of the above questions is “no”, ask yourself what you value so much that you’re willing to stay in an uncomfortable or difficult relationship or situation to sustain it. You may also notice that some of the relationships and partnerships that you’ve been part of or that you are considering entering may need some reconsideration from this new perspective.

Partnerships that prove valuable to you in certain areas of your life are often difficult to see objectively.  Humans are creatures of habit. Even those of us who take pride in our unpredictability are predictably unpredictable. It’s difficult for us to change things that we root our identities and lifestyles in, and especially when those things involve our relationships with others.

Yet Venus in Taurus gives you an opportunity to look at your relationships objectively to assess which ones are giving you the most value at this stage of your life’s journey.  Which people and resources are helping you become who you want to be in your life?  Which ones are pulling you down?  Which ones are holding you steady where you are?  And what do YOU want for yourself and your life? Who do you want to be, and who and what do you want your lifestyle to include?

It’s important that what you value is what you choose, and that means that Venus in Taurus is great time for choosing companions for your journey who will support and encourage you in manifesting what you truly value. This is key for relationships, especially if the relationship you’re assessing if one in which the two of you are merging lifestyles to build a life together. If you each have different lifestyle values and cannot give each other the individual freedom to pursue and live into those values through your partnership, the connection is unlikely to sustain itself.

There will be a few distinct opportunities for you to see if your values align with the values of others in your life. Here are some important transits for Venus in Taurus during its 3.5 week run in the sign:

  • Venus square Leo Juno exact at 10:23p PDT on 19th March (3.33°) – Partnerships that prove valuable to you in certain areas of your life may also prove challenging as you commit to your unique and individual self-expression. What are you most committed to? Who are you most committed to?

  • Venus trine Capricorn Pluto exact at 12:45p PDT on 30th March (15.45°) – As the world changes, so do you. As you change, so do your relationships. Do your connections match your newly-emerging values?
