The 2019 Sagittarius Full Moon reaches maximum phase at 1:30a PDT on Monday. 17th June 2019 (25.88°). With it comes the energy of growth and expansion and the feeling that anything is possible. Of course, in order to feel the feeling, we must get out of our own way.

That is the big epiphany of this 2019 rendition of the Sagittarius Full Moon. We get to fully recognize the mind games we’ve been playing with ourselves which have kept us from seeing our True selves and our fullest potential clearly. We’ve sold ourselves short long enough. Now, it’s time for each and all of us to embrace the Real Truth about ourselves in order to free ourselves from the intellectual prisons of our own making. It’s time for us to both see and feel the possibilities for embarking on adventures which embody and/or support the earnest and honest living of our lives as our True selves.

Sagittarian energy embodies the personal growth and expansion which comes through first-hand experiences. These experiences enable us to better see and understand the big pictures of the matters of our lives. The adventures – likely travel of all kinds (especially international), higher education, and/or simply doing things we haven’t done before – are readily available and strongly encouraged when Sagittarius energy is prominent. First-hand, hands-on involvement provides us with opportunities to gain the wisdom available through these experiences by giving us opportunities to bring what once were simple intellectual ideas and concepts (Gemini) into the real world to see if and how they function in the real world. Yet we must remember that the Moon represents our fundamental emotional energies, and with the Full Moon in Sagittarius, we have opportunities to feel all of the emotions which emerge as we experience in our lives what once only existed in our minds.

Sagittarius is usually an optimistic sign, one which choose to see the best and most positive in all things and isn’t afraid to do things on a large scale or in a big way. Yet we’re still under the influence of a Gemini 9 Sun whose light is being reflected by the Sagittarius Moon, and we’re more likely to have a significant emotional response to what is happening in our minds, especially to the beliefs about ourselves and others we perceive or experience as coming to a close or otherwise decisive end.

For many of us, this 2019 Sagittarius Full Moon represents the recognition of the emotional Truth of our intellectually-driven thoughts, beliefs, and communications.

Numerologically speaking, the 2019 Sagittarius Full Moon occurs on an 8 universal day in nearly the entire world. Eight energy is all about power and influence and the desire to make the most positive impact possible upon the lives of others. Yet when the desired impact is not being made or made as quickly as one may want, the tendency is to try and force the desired impact to be made, resulting in manipulative and/or controlling behaviors.

This desire to influence occurs under the energy of a Gemini 9 universal month energy– an energy of fulfillment, completion, and endings. Old ideas and beliefs which are no longer serving are being recognized and discarded on the individual level to make room for new ideas and thoughts aligned with factual truth to be adopted by individuals and eventually into the mainstream of society. When factoring in the astrology of the day, this indicates encouragement (or pressure) to drop any remaining pretenses and deceptions, and to admit to any efforts to deceive and distract from the facts of the matters-at-hand.

This is all happening under the canopy of a 3 universal year in which learning, growth, and expansion are the themes. This universal year energy supports the intentions of the Sagittarius Full Moon to positively and optimistically grow beyond our self-imposed limitations, yet we are more likely to feel the acute obstructions to our individual and collective growth and expansion as result of our own efforts to control or manipulate circumstances instead of allowing ourselves to be step out of them into the adventure of an unknown and unpredictable future.

This acute awareness of our intellectual self-obstruction will likely be experienced on the collective level as well as the individual. After all, the “powers-that-be” have been making some rather big and bold moves in order to increase their hold on natural, intellectual, and societal resources. Yet those moves are now starting to backfire on them as the factual Truth is becoming too big for everyone to ignore. Despite the Sun and Venus in Gemini doing their best to outwit and outsmart everyone around them, the mind games Gemini energy tends to play are being exposed by Sagittarius’ fact-checking nature. Due to the Sagittarius Moon reflecting Gemini’s duplicitous nature back on itself and with the Moon finding energetic support from Ceres Retrograde and Jupiter Retrograde also moving through Sagittarius, Gemini is now finding itself outnumbered and trapped in the mind games of its own making, unable to extricate itself from its predicaments without admitting it has told a lie or two (or ten) in creating the conditions it now finds itself in.

An inclination to play victim or martyr to others’ awakening to factual Truth leads to an even deeper understanding of one’s self-identity wounds. As the collective societal values continue to shift toward a preference for factual truth, honesty, and authenticity, it becomes harder for those who specialize in intellectual stagecraft to play the victim/martyr roles which have proven successful for them before this moment. Now, this collective values shift challenges them to own up to who they’ve been pretending to be… and it forces them to face the reality of who they’ve chosen to be in order to bring the current conditions about.

This may not be a happy time for those who have been avoiding facts about themselves or their circumstances.

However, for those who have been doing their personal (inner) “work”, determined to break through their self-created masks and façades, this 2019 Sagittarius Full Moon may be a time of positive transformation and exponential personal growth. For many of us, our present will finally make peace with crucial parts of our past, and this reconciliation creates a pathway from the present to the future that has been obstructed from view until now.

There are two major astrological transits which reveal the ways the energy of this 2019 Sagittarius Full Moon plays out.

Gemini 9 Sun semi-sextile Cancer Juno (25-28°) – Thoughts and ideas about bringing old mindsets and belief systems to an end, and the communication of those thoughts and ideas leads to renewed commitments to address our current (personal) emotional investments and whether or not they are meeting our individual emotional needs. This is also a good opportunity to review how your own past emotional investments and the beliefs you developed as result of those investments are affecting you now – is it time to release those emotional investments and beliefs as well? (Hint: Probably yes.)

Sagittarius Moon semi-sextile Capricorn Pluto Retrograde (22-25°) – A strong emotional desire to expand one’s experience of life leads to an expanded awareness of the big picture of inclusivity, and leads to an intensified call to transform societal institutions and norms by pressuring them to change on their own accord. Yet there’s also the realization that the outdated institutions and those who run them may not be willing to allow such transformation as it may result in the elimination of their power structures and their roles in said positions of power… which may lead to quite a display of power by the powers-that-be in order to maintain their status quo.

Juno and Pluto Retrograde are too far apart to be considered in opposition aspect with each other at the time of the Full Moon’s maximum phase (28° and 22° Capricorn, respectively – way outside of my preferred 3° orb of influence).

Yet Capricorn Pluto Retrograde does actually make the opposition aspect with Cancer Mercury and Mars (19-22°), which are involved in a double-conjuncted opposition of (Cancer North Node conjunct Mercury conjunct Mars) and (Capricorn South Node conjunct Saturn Retrograde) (17-20°). The actions being taken and communications being made are aligning with a nurturing vision of the future (possibly female-driven), while many of the societal institutions responsible for providing leadership and presences in our societies are clinging for dear life to the current yet outdated perspective of our society (largely male-dominant), determined to maintain their assertive if not aggressive authority over the masses. The Pluto Retrograde opposition with Mercury and Mars reveals increasing pressure from the future-minded camp being directed toward the past-based camp to either change or risk “death”/being forcibly phased-out.

Within our individual selves, we may notice the circumstances in our lives coming to a head in the areas in which we have been resisting our personal release of old, outdated thought and belief patterns and delaying (or denying) our own personal transformations. This 2019 Sagittarius Full Moon is kind of our last chance to choose this transformation for ourselves before the Universe takes matters into its own hands and likely forces it upon us in intellectually and emotionally profound ways.

A few more transits and configurations which play a role on this 2019 Sagittarius Full Moon day:

  • A sequence of Pisces Black Moon Lilith, Aries Chiron, and Taurus Vesta conjunct Uranus (°) indicates that an inclination to victim or martyr behavior leads to a deeper awareness of where and how your self-identity wounds can be (or are being) triggered, which leads to an intensified determination to align with or rebel against generally-accepted societal values.
  • Sagittarius Ceres Retrograde square Pisces Black Moon Lilith (3-4°) reveals how values – as they become more culturally and societally inclusive – either eliminate or intensify victim and martyr behaviors. Those who strongly identify with being victims or martyrs for their cultures will likely become intensify their behaviors, while those who loosely identify with their cultures of origin will be more inclined to open their minds and hearts to share their cultures with others. Both expressions will challenge people to reassess their own positions and self-identities in the context of an expanded world view…. which is why Ceres Retrograde’s trine with Aries Chiron (4-5°) is so important. The more the world view expands, the more individuals feel there is room for them to be accepted. More people feel included in the society as result, and stress goes down… except that the Ceres Retorgrade quincunx with the Taurus Vesta+Uranus conjunction (3-5°) intensifies a determination to either uphold or rebel against societal values. Some will fight to maintain the status quo, while others will fight for more inclusivity.
  • Gemini Venus square Virgo White Moon Selene (10-13°) – Dialogue in relationships challenges the call to a Higher expression of everyday work and service.
  • Gemini Venus makes trine with Libra Pallas Athena (10-11°) – Exchange of ideas reveals empowerment of partnership as joint efforts and/or compromises are made.
  • Pisces Neptune trine Cancer North Node conjunct Mercury conjunct Mars (17-20°) – Idealistic beliefs/delusions/fantasies encourage the promotion of a future that is compassionate and emotionally nurturing for all.

The energy of this 2019 Sagittarius Full Moon will be felt from 14th June through 20th June 2019. Notice the shifts already occurring, and those which are aligning to occur. Also notice who is continuing to resist their growth and expansion, and who is just about ready to move beyond their self-created prisons into the world around them.
