Let’s be clear from the get-go – the following information applies to partnerships of ALL kinds, not just romantic ones.  And the changes that you may be challenged to make under the influence are probably changes that you’ve needed to make for a while but haven’t.  Now, as you witness and experience the decline and dissolution of many of the social institutions and structures that were in place when your partnerships were formed, these changes may be forced upon you.  It’s not the same world anymore, and frankly, the terms of your partnerships may not be able to exist the same way they always have before now.

Due to a square of Venus in Libra and Pluto in Capricorn, exact at 10:33a PDT on 8th October 2014, this shift could be made very clear.

Pluto deals in all-or-nothing extremes, and in the sign of Capricorn, Pluto is either getting the goal accomplished or it isn’t.  If things aren’t getting done or if he desired results aren’t being produced, Pluto in Capricorn is willing to clear out whatever institutions and/or structures are in place to clear the slate and start over with something new.  Pluto in Capricorn is the main influence responsible for the collapses of power and influence we have been experiencing since 2010.  When in square aspect with Venus in Libra, Pluto in Capricorn is a strong indicator that confrontations may arise when the best-intended partnerships aren’t getting the job done.  It all comes down to results, and if the results aren’t good or if there are no results at all, Pluto in Capricorn is ready to blow up the partnership and all of the structures that support it if it isn’t fulfilling on its desired goals and intentions.

Of course, this destructive inclination doesn’t sit well with Venus in Libra, who wants to avoid conflict at all costs.  Venus is in its home sign in Libra, and this can complicate things because Venus and Libra are rather adverse to conflict.  These influences encourage peace at all costs, including overlooking problems or disagreements better addressed as soon as they are noticed.  Yet it is perfectly in-character for Venus and/or Libra to pretend that there is nothing wrong or off in any way.  Venus and Libra will do whatever it takes to keep the peace, even if that included pretending that there is balance, fairness, and justice where there isn’t any.

In the face of possible conflict due to ending a partnership, Venus in Libra would rather suck it up and pretend nothing is wrong for as long as possible…that is until the lack of results becomes unbearable.  Then and only then will Venus in Libra finally concede to Pluto in Capricorn’s unavoidably destructive will, allowing Pluto to clear out the ineffective, irrelevant, and outdated connections and partnerships.

Then again, this isn’t to say that the partnership(s) must end!  It does, however, say that partnerships can and will likely be affected by this Venus-Pluto square and the changes happening as result of it.  These changes can help evolve and enrich your partnership – healthy tension can affect positive and necessary changes.

Change is the only constant, and if there is any transit that will reflect this constant this week, this square between Venus in Libra and Pluto in Capricorn is the one.  The changes in the world really do affect you, too – whether they are happening on the other side of the world or in your own backyard.  The effect of this square may not be direct, but may very well shape the way the world works around you.  Just remember that as long as it alters your environment, it can alter you and your life…and your partnerships.
